Privacy Policy
This policy explains how BestStay NG handles personal information when you browse our website, make an enquiry, contact our team or discuss listing a property with us.
Last updated: 3 November 2026
1. Who we are and how to contact us
BestStay NG helps people discover shortlet properties in Nigeria and make enquiries through our team. For privacy questions or requests concerning information handled by BestStay, contact us on WhatsApp: +234 701 679 3569 and state that your message concerns privacy.
This policy covers information handled by BestStay. A property operator or an external platform may have separate responsibilities for information it receives directly.
2. Information we may collect
- Contact information: your name, telephone number, WhatsApp number and email address when you provide them.
- Enquiry and booking information: requested property, dates, guest numbers, preferences, messages, agreed arrangements and relevant payment or booking references.
- Property-partner information: contact details, property location, amenities, photographs and information submitted by an owner or manager.
- Technical information: information generated when the website is accessed, such as IP address, browser/device details, request times and security or error logs.
We ask for information relevant to the service being requested. Do not send passwords, payment-card security codes, banking PINs or one-time passwords. If identification is required for a particular stay, confirm the requirement and recipient through our verified contact channel first.
3. Why we use information
We use relevant information to respond to enquiries, check availability with property operators, communicate agreed booking details, support guests and property partners, keep necessary transaction records, maintain website security and meet legal obligations.
The applicable lawful basis depends on the activity. It may include taking steps at your request before a contract, performing an agreed service, meeting a legal obligation, a legitimate interest balanced against your rights, or consent where consent is required. Optional marketing, if offered, is separate from the information needed to handle an enquiry. You can ask to stop marketing messages.
6. International handling of information
Communication and technology providers, including services you choose to use such as WhatsApp, may process information outside Nigeria. Any transfer for which BestStay is responsible is subject to applicable data-protection requirements. Contact us if you need information about the providers or safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
7. Retention and security
Information is kept only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including handling an enquiry or booking, necessary records, dispute resolution and applicable legal requirements. The appropriate period depends on the type of information and the circumstances; you can ask about information relating to you.
Reasonable organisational and technical precautions are used to protect information. No website, device or messaging service can guarantee complete security. Please tell us promptly if you believe information sent to BestStay has been misused.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law and any relevant exceptions, you may request information about how your data is used, access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or portability. You may also object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, and ask for human review where an applicable automated decision affects you.
Contact our team to make a request. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity before disclosing or changing records. A request may be limited where information must be retained or processed for a lawful reason; we will explain the position. Withdrawing consent does not invalidate processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
9. Children’s information
Booking enquiries should be made by an adult or someone legally authorised to make the arrangement. Please do not submit a child’s personal information unless it is necessary for the requested stay and you are authorised to provide it.
10. Complaints and changes to this policy
Please contact BestStay first if you have a privacy concern so we can investigate it. You may also raise a data-protection complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Further information is available in the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023.
This policy may be updated when our services or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest published version.
